Today YRF (Yash Raj Film) complete its 50 years in the movie business. Started in 1970 by late Yash Chopra the film production house later emerged to be the biggest film studio in India. With movies like Kabhi Kabhi, Silsila, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Veer Zaara, Mohabbatein and many more, YRF became a pioneer.
On achieving this magnificent feat, Late Yash Chopra’s son shared a heartfelt note thanking all the actors, directors, writers, music composers, lyricist, singers, cinematographers, spot boys, audience and all those people involved in helping the company to reach where it stands today.
Rumours are floating in since many days that YRF is planning to announce some big movies to celebrate this day. However till now, no official confirmation has been given by the production house. So let’s assess the prevailing condition and find whether announcing film at this point of time will be beneficial for YRF or not ?
According to many entertainment websites, there are talks about big budget movies with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn, but seeing the ongoing perception of Bollywood amongst public eyes has certainly turned out to be negative due to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
Moreover the Production House also faced a huge backlash due to their contract with the actor. Along with Dharma, Yash Raj Films also faced public wrath, and now when there are so many developments on Sushant Singh Rajput’s case each day, the Production House might restrict itself from announcing the films.
The second point that needs to be highlighted is public eye. If you look into the news, it is all related to Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Bollywood but not in a positive way. Earlier it has been witnessed, trailers like Sadak 2, Gunjan Saxena created records in most disliked trailer and lowest rating in IMdb. In such a vulnerable situation announcing movies that too with big stars can be risky.
If a big film arrives with a big stars, the film needs to create buzz. But seeing the ongoing situation, it looks impossible. No doubt, it will create buzz but negative buzz which inorder will impact the film negatively. It’s nearly impossible to catch public eye in the current scenario. Everyone is dedicated to know the reason behind Sushant’s death, so very few people will be eager to know about the films.
