YouTube pledges to donate $1 Million to address social injustice after death of George Floyd

YouTube pledged to donate $1 Million in support of efforts to address the social injustice after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The death of George Floyd on 25th May has completely changed the scenario in US. George Floyd a 46 year old African American died in Minneapolis on Monday while being restrained by Police. In the CCTV footage it is clearly visible A police officer kneeling on Floyd neck as he took his last breath.

Since then protesters are out on street and protesting against White Supremacy and racism under Donald Trump Government. George Floyd, a resident of Minneapolis was accused of using counterfeit $20 note at local deli. Later Donald Trump’s tweet saying “Looting leads to shooting” came as a final blow.

 

People have come together on roads to fight against White supremacy and demeaning the blacks in America.

 

Now, YouTube has pledged to donate $1M in support of efforts to address social injustice and to stand in solidarity against Racism and violence. While, this didn’t go to well with some people as they believe it’s more important for YouTube to remove those creators who make racist comments and promote hate mongers. While some people are not happy with YouTube decision, according to 2014 report a business worth $40 Billion is just donating $1 Million.
