News portals have published articles which mention that WhatsApp has now limited the users to forward any message to just a single person or a single group. This step has been taken to tackle the misinformation which is getting spread to many people and groups about CoVID-19. But how much this news holds the truth, let’s know it.

WhatsApp posted a blog on their website today(7th April, 2020). After this blog, many articles got published. And after that when we get to know about this, we practically tested it and and then tried to find the actual source of news, i.e., WhatsApp Official Blog Post. We read the complete blog where WhatsApp has stated :
Last year we introduced users to the concept of messages that have been forwarded many times. These messages are labeled with double arrows to indicate they did not originate from a close contact. In effect, these messages are less personal compared to typical messages sent on WhatsApp. We are now introducing a limit so that these messages can only be forwarded to one chat at a time.
WhatsApp Forward Message Test
We tried not to forward the fake message among others related to CoVID-19, so we experimented with our team only.
At first, we found a fake message that has been sent to us by a WhatsApp user. He was not aware that the message he has forwarded to us is nothing more than a product of Fake Forwarded Message Factory.
We tested this not only on Android WhatsApp Beta but also on normal Android WhatsApp app.
Truth of WhatsApp Forward Message Limitation
Even though WhatsApp has announced that WhatsApp users can’t forward any message to more than one person or group. But it seems as if WhatsApp has not executed this limitation till now. And this could be the the reason that we were able to forward messages to more than 1 person.
