As the last month of 2020 is finally here, lots of new movies and series are releasing on every platform possible this weekend. So, if you’re confused about what to watch on December 4, that means this Friday we have a list of new releases that is surely going to interest you.
TENET (In Theatres)
Ok let’s just agree on this that, we all are dying to watch this Christopher Nolan movie from the last few months. It initially released in the UK in the last week of August, 2020 and later on got released in several theatres around the globe. But as the restrictions here in India were in action, the cinema halls were closed.
Finally after a long wait, this beauty of a movie is going to hit the theatres in India this Friday. So, if you are into Sci-Fi stuff or high intense thrillers this is the movie to go for this weekend.
One film which is definitely going unnoticed under everyone’s radar is the Sharib Hashmi and Sharad Kelkar starrer Darbaan. This small town drama has a very interesting premise surrounding around the lives of a caretaker and his master. From the trailer, we only got to know just a glimpse of it but that is enough to develop an interest.
This film is written, directed and produced by debutant Bipin Nadkarni. It also stars talented actors like Rasika Dugal, Flora Saini and Harsh Chhaya. It was earlier scheduled for a theatrical release but due to the pandemic makers of the film have to opt for a direct to digital release now. Don’t miss it.
BOMBAY ROSE (Netflix)
This Indian animated film is written, designed, directed and edited by Gitanjali Rao. It follows the story of a female flower seller in Bombay (now Mumbai), who fall in love and how her life change after that. It was first premiered at the 2019 Venice Film Festival and then screened at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.
Famous names such as director Anurag Kashyap and actor Makrand Deshpande are associated with this film as a cast member. The initial reception of Bombay Rose at the film festivals and special screenings were good. If you want to watch and experience something new this weekend, it’s the one to go for.
SONS OF THE SOIL (Prime Video)
The Amazon Original docu series of the Jaipur Pink Panthers is also releasing this Friday. The professional Kabaddi team of India’s pink city Jaipur, which plays in the Pro Kabaddi league has gone through many ups and downs in their journey. Jaipur Pink Panthers are the winners of the inaugural PKL (2014).
This team is owned by Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and led by Deepak Niwas Hooda currently. The trailer of ‘Sons of the Soil’ shows the insight of JPP from their fall in 2015 to their rise in the coming years. If you are into sports drama, this will surely be of your interest.
This David Fincher directed biographical drama is one of the best one to watch this Friday, if you are a cinema lover. Brilliance of the makers in recreating the world of 1940s is just mind blowing in this film. Mank tells the story of the American screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and his development of the script for Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane(1941), which is considered as one of the greatest film ever made.
The cast of Mank includes Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Ariss Howard and many more talented actors. Mank was released in the United States on November 13, 2020 and only managed to gather very less audience due to the pandemic. But when it release on Netflix on Dec 4, netizens will surely going to enjoy watching it.
SURAJ PE MANGAL BHARI (Zee Plex)
This Bollywood satirical comedy film stars Manoj Bajpayee, Diljit Dosanjh and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles. It is directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Zee Studios. Fun fact about Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, it resumed the shooting of it’s remaining schedules in July of 2020 and became the first Bollywood movie to hit the theatres after the reopening of cinemas in November.
Even though the film has received mixed reviews from the critics but those who have gone to see it in theatres were very happy after watching it. It is a complete package of laughters and drama, so if you want to watch something fun this December 4, this film will definitely be a good choice.
