West Indies wins the first test against England by 4 wickets in Southampton

West Indies have won their first test match against England in Southampton by 4 wickets. The historic match marked the return of International Cricket after 4 months of shutdown.

The Jason Holder lead team has won this historic game against England and proved themselves to be one of the strong contenders for World Test Championship. The whole world was witnessing this game of cricket and both the teams left no stone unturned to show a class act.

England Captain Ben Stokes won the toss elected to bat first. However the decisive bowling from the Caribbean bowlers, collapsed the English Batting lineup. In the first innings West Indian bowlers limited the English Batsmen to 204 runs. West Indies took a lead of 114 runs in their first innings. However a strong comeback from the English Batsmen made the game worth watching.

In the second innings English Batsmen showed a class act. With the likes of Rory Burns, D Sibley, Zak Crawley and Ben Stokes West Indies managed to take a lead of 199, giving a target of 200 to the West Indies Batsmen.

However despite getting early breakthroughs, Blackwood and Roston Chase temperament and ability to stay on the wicket took West Indies over the line. The Jason Holder lead time have surprised everyone, defeating the English team in English condition is big thing. The captain Jason Holder, bowler Shanon Gabriel and Blackwood are the star of this match.

This win will go down the history. This win can bring an evolution to West Indies Cricket. However this match has raised many questions on English team. Is the English batting lineup strong enough without Joe Root ? Is James Anderson as effective ?
Was Dropping Stuart Broad from the team a right decision. The management needs to find the answers of this question.

The next match is set to take place from 16th July in Old Trafford. In the next game Joe Root will mark his return as a captain. Now West Indies leads the 3 match test series by 1-0. However in the coming games the England team will bounce back strong.
