On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Fit India Movement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with different personalities from a different field. Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli was one among those who interacted and shared his experience about the same.
PM Modi under the Fit India dialogue asked Virat Kohli about his transformation as a player and what led to him being so successful now.
The RCB Captain who is in Dubai took out the time to participate in the Fit India dialogue. Virat said that he experienced a transition according to the change in demand of the game. He felt that though the players have the skill but they don’t have the fitness to back their performances.
He said that we need mental fitness and physical fitness. To achieve what we want and desire for, it’s important that your body reacts to your needs.
Speaking about his fitness mantra, Virat Kohli told PM Modi that he had to bring about a change in his physical fitness & diet to achieve the results. He goes on to say that we don’t take care of our body properly after eating a meal. It’s important to do some activity after eating and allow the body to process food.
PM Modi then emphasize the introduction of the Yo-Yo test and asked Virat to explain that. Kohli said yo-yo tests were very necessary to set a standard.
“We are very still very behind in terms of global standard in the Yo-Yo test. It was required to set up this culture in order to maintain players’ fitness. It is equal for everyone, even if I fail to clear the test, I will be also not available for selection”.
A new initiative of PM Narendra Modi, the Fit India Dialogue is yet another effort to involve citizens of the country to draw out a plan to make India a fit nation.
