In a career (Test Cricket) spanning over a decade, this is only the second time that Virat Kohli has been dismissed run out. But what’s more shocking is both the run out came against Australia that too in Adelaide.
The first run out of King Kohli in Test matches was witnessed in 2012 and since then the Indian Captain has been levelling the speed of a Cheetah when it comes to running in the middle. Virat came into bat when the situation was tough and the Australian bowlers were throwing the fireballs and dominating the play. Along with Pujara and later Rahane he absorbed all the pressure and was slowly building his innings.
Just when it seemed that there’s something special from the man today, a big mess in the 22 yard resulted to Virat’s run out. The stage was completely set for Virat Kohli. Before his dismissal Virat played just 3 balls in his last 50 deliveries. Virat Kohli’s 74 runs in 180 balls helped India to cross the difficult phase. However Virat was disappointed as he looked in a good shape and was in good touch.
After the first day India have scored 233 runs with the loss of 6 wickets. With Ashwin and W Saha batting, if India manages to cross the 280 runs mark it will be a pretty decent score seeing the pink ball and the pitch.
The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav and R Ashwin have the ability to pick early wickets and push Australia to backfoot. While Australia always go for the Kill, Virat Kohli’s Team India is no less. Both the sides will give their 110% to get a result of the match
