Twitter India made a tweet “This is a phased roll-out, Fleets will be available for everyone in India on Twitter for iOS and Android in the coming days in updated app versions.”

It cleary means that latest feature of Twitter won’t be exclusive to some users. And the feature will be rolling out to users in phases as smartphone brands do with the initial updates.

What is Twitter Fleets and how does it work ?

Fleets is a feature, similar to Facebook stories, WhatsApp Status. It last for 24 hours and then it disappears. In WhatsApp, you might have seen people uploading their status as a daily routine. And most of the status remains worthless. And this is what will happen on Twitter as well. As most people connects randomly with other twitter users, they might try to show their professionalism. And it may lead to less number of worthless stories in Twitter Fleets.

When you’ll upload the story in Twitter, people won’t be able to like, retweet or reply. People will get the option to react with DMs on twitter stories. Fleets will make it’s position at the top for logged in users. And it could be seen by tapping on the avatar (user’s profile pic).

Users will get the option to add texts/downloaded photos/live camera photos/GIFs in Fleets as it can be seen in Kayvon Beykpour’s tweeted pics.
