Earlier it was just another app on your smartphone that you use to make funny entertaining videos. But currently this application has become one of the hot topics of the nation due to several controversies going around it.
Almost 3 weeks ago, a nation wide trend started to circulate that was YouTube vs Tiktok, which eventually give rise to this big outrage. People posted, tweeted, shared their dislikes and problems with the application. Many such videos were made in the past on Tiktok, that showed and glorified domestic violence and crime publicly, which leads to the foundation of this trend.
Recently a Tiktoker, Faisal Siddiqui was accused of promoting Acid attack in one of his video. Later Faisal took to his social medias to clarify the accusations, but people are still angry towards the video as it showed so many other wrong things.
There’s no further update regarding this case but the video has definitely raised the concerns among the citizens about the influence of such videos on our society.

It is hard to see any Editor’s Choice application on Play Store to receive such negative reviews. There are about 6 hashtags of Tiktok that is trending on Twitter. The hashtag #BanTikTokInIndia is one of the main reasons for these bad ratings.
IMPACTS, RESULTS AND SOLUTIONS
If Tiktok gets banned in India anytime in future, the genuine hard working creators who makes good entertaining and informative videos will be the most affected ones. The time they spend in all these years to build a platform for themselves will no longer be available them and their followers.
This way, they have to move towards any other platform where they have to restart from scratch. Even though they will regain the followers after a while but the security thing will always be there. Every other short video making application on Play Store is made by a foreign company, so data sharing thing can happen anywhere, anytime.
If they have to switch to any other platform, why not switch to an Indian app. Any Indian IT firm can come forward to develop a similar potential mobile application which will be totally safe and entertaining for us. This way we don’t have to care about our data security anymore. In this time of crisis, this will also help in providing jobs to many individuals. Employment rate in India will definitely rise if government and private investors help these kind of startups.
