Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has again involved himself in a controversy saying, he thrashed Indian players so much that they asked for his forgiveness after the match.
Shahid Afridi and controversy is a friendly tale. The cricketer doesn’t know to spend a single day without giving controversial statements about his opponents or team members. After using incorrect words for Indian PM, Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi is again back with a new statement.
In an interview with CricCast the former Pakistani Captain said, “I have always enjoyed India. Unhe to theek-thaak mara hai humne. Itna mara hai unhe ki match ke baad maafiyan mangi hai unhone. (We’ve thrashed them a lot. I believe we’ve beaten them so much that they used to ask us for forgiveness after the match).
Shahid Afridi has also earlier evoked his feelings about India. After asking help from Indian Cricketer Harrbhajan Singh & Yuvraj Singh for his foundation, the cricketer made derogatory remarks on Indian Army and Prime Minister. Shahid’s controversy is not only limited to India, but during his playing tenure he was involved in many fights with his teammates and supporting staff. The ugly spat between Afridi and Javed Miandad can never be forgotten.
Recently Danish Kaneria accused Shahid Afridi for always eating up his place and playing tactical games to restrict him from being the part of the team.
Shahid Afridi also clarified his statement where he said, “I received more love in India, than I received in Pakistan”. Reacting to this the former cricketer said, “The circumstances were difficult back in 2016 when I went to India for the T20 World Cup. We weren’t certain whether we will be allowed to go to India or not. Not only did I go there as Pakistan captain but also as my country’s ambassador so I had to deal with situations accordingly.”
