A big news for Salman Khan fans. Salman Khan’s Radhe is eyeing for a theatrical release on Eid 2021. Reports earlier suggested that seeing the ongoing situation in the country the makers of Radhe were planning to release their film on OTT platform, but now it’s confirmed that it’s all baseless rumours.
A Salman Khan film is a matter of celebration for his fans across the country. When his film releases on theatres people from different regions rush to watch it and enjoy the actor’s presence in the movie. 75 mm screen is where Salman Khan actually belongs. The actor has been gifting his fans with entertaining movies on every Eid, however his long stint was broken due to Covid-19 outbreak. His movie ‘Radhe’ which was scheduled to release on Eid 2020 was postponed.
Trade Analyst and Film Critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “RADHE #OTT RUMOURS BASELESS… There was speculation in the *exhibition sector* that #Radhe – starring #SalmanKhan – will skip theatrical release… Will stream on #OTT directly… FALSE… The producers are clear, #Radhe will release in *cinemas*, eyes #Eid2021 release.”

Now this is a big relief for all the film exhibitors and the fans. Everyone’s favourite ‘Bhaijaan’ will be again back on the big screen and set the theatres on fire with his roaring performance. It’s very important for Indian Cinema that big stars release their film on theatres. Indian Cinema contributes a big chunk of money into India’s economy. In Fiscal Year 2019, revenue generated from in cinema advertising was more than 11 billion rupees and this number will certainly grow up in the upcoming years.
In 2016, Bollywood alone contributed $4.5 Billion to India’s GDP. Indian Film Industry is the biggest producer of films so the responsibility is on big stars to bring back audience to the theatres for survival. Since past few months many film exhibitors wrote open letter to producers and have been appealing big stars to not shift their attention to digital platforms from the big screen.

The numbers don’t lie, Salman is the only actor in Bollywood to deliver four 300 Crore films. Now high hopes are riding with Radhe. Radhe is directed by Prabhu Deva and stars Salman Khan, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Randeep Hooda and Megha Akash in key roles. Salman is currently shooting for his film as well as his show Bigg Boss.
