Rohit Sharma captained Mumbai Indians against David Warner’s SRH in yesterday’s game. However Mumbai lost the match, a big controversy has risen up regarding Rohit’s injury and BCCI and Team Management mismanaging the India’s Vice- Captain.

Let’s take you back, Rohit Sharma suffered an injury in a match against KXIP. After that game Rohit made himself unavailable. The medical reports suggested that Rohit has suffered a Grade 2 Hamstring tear. Just after Rohit’s injury, India’s squad for the Australian tour was announced but what came as a shock to everyone was Rohit not being selected in any of the formats. BCCI released a statement that they will continue to monitor the medical condition of Rohit Sharma.

While BCCI and the medical team declared Rohit as unfit, the batsman was seen practicing in the nets for his franchise. His franchise Mumbai Indians on the same day posted a video from their official Twitter account, where you can see Rohit hitting those monstrous sixes.

This news spread like a wildfire in the forest. Fans started assuming that everything is not right between The Team Management and Rohit Sharma. While some assumed that BCCI has no clarity over this matter. How can a player like Rohit Sharma kept out of the squad in a 3 months tour ? This is a question that has been on everyone’s mind.

However Indian Coach Ravi Shastri came out in public and expressed his opinion about this matter. He said, “It’s being handled by the people in charge of the medical part of it. We don’t get involved in that. They have submitted a report to the selectors and they have gone about their business.”

“I have no say, neither am I a part of the selection. All I know is the medical report which says he could be in danger of injuring himself again if he is not careful,” Shastri said to Times Now. Shastri advised Rohit and compared how his cricketing career ended because of an injury. He said, “So, I speak from experience. It is a similar case. I wanted to go. Doctors told me don’t go. It was greed. I was in tremendous form so there was this eagerness to go back. I hope Rohit’s case is not that serious and the same with Ishant (Sharma).”

Later Sourav Ganguly cautioned Rohit Sharma. Ganguly said, “You don’t want him to get injured again. He has a hamstring tear and it will get ruptured again. It will then get longer for him to come back,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by PTI.

He further added, “But yes, there are people working with him. The Mumbai Indians physio is working with him. The Indian physio (Nitin Patel) is there. Rohit himself knows that he has got a long career ahead and it’s not just this IPL or next series for him. I am sure he is mature enough to do what is best for him,”

But contrary to everyone’s beliefs, Rohit Sharma was again seen back on field. When asked about his injury Rohit Sharma said, “It looks good”. Now this has sparked a controversy, If Rohit is feeling fit and fine and also playing the games, then why is BCCI, Selectors and the Team Management not noticing this.

Is there something really wrong between Rohit Sharma, Selectors and the Team Management ? There is no reason to not include Rohit Sharma in the team, if he is playing the matches. However there’s an other side too, few people believe that Rohit is risking his career by putting the Franchise and hiding his injury.
