Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are 2 big names of Indian Cricket currently. Virat and Rohit played a big role behind where India stands today in World Cricket. Both the batsmen have undeniable contribution and have lead India to many victories. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma resides in millions of heart.
But recently, Rohit Sharma’s absence from Indian Squad in all the three formats against Australia has sparked a controversy and all the conspiracy theories. Rohit Sharma fans believes that the Captain, management and BCCI are being unfair to him and is trying to put him down.
All these started when BCCI announced the squad for Australia tour in all three formats. What came as a surprise to everyone was, excluding Rohit Sharma from the team on account of injury and appointing KL Rahul as Vice Captain in the white ball cricket. Rohit faced an injury in the match against KXIP and since then Keiron Pollard is leading MI in his absence.
While BCCI mentioned that, it’s medical team will continue to monitor the medical conditions of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma. Mumbai Indians official Twitter account posted a video where Rohit was seen hitting the balls in the nets. These raised the debate that history is being repeated again. People started questioning BCCI, selectors and captain regarding Rohit’s absence from the team.

The biggest question here is, “If Rohit Sharma is this much unfit and injured that he can miss the 3 months Australia tour, how can he come for practice in the nets for Mumbai Indians”. People believe Rohit Sharma is being targeted and everyone are using his injury to keep him out of the team.
Moreover the video released by Mumbai Indians official Twitter account is being considered as a statement from Rohit Sharma to all the fans who are doubting his fitness. The video was posted just after the squad for Australia’s tour was announced.
This is not the first time that a negetive piece of news flowed across all the platforms regarding Rohit and Virat. After India lost against New Zealand in the semi final of ICC World Cup 2019, there were reports about rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Reacting to this Virat Kohli once said, “In my opinion, its baffling. It’s absolutely ridiculous to read these kind of stuff, that comes out there. I have been to public events where we have been praised and here we are feeding off lies, overlooking facts, turning a blind eye to all good things that happened and creating fantasies and scenarios in our head. We want to accept that this is the truth”

But now the rumours seemed to be somewhere true. There is absolutely no reason to drop Rohit Sharma from the team. He has been a sheer match winner for India in last 7 years. A man with 3 double centuries against quality side cannot be written off like this. In Australia, where the ball gets an extra bounce players like Rohit Sharma are a luxury for any team.
The likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are base of current Indian side, and if the base is destroyed the structure is sure to fall. Rohit Sharma’s form since past 2 years has been just phenomenal. The opener helped team India to attain many victories (including 5 centuries in 2019 World Cup) along with Captain Virat Kohli. Often Virat has talked about, how pleasing it is to see Rohit bat from the other end.
If at all the fitness is taken into consideration, the question that is arising on fans mind is, “Why is Mayank Aggarwal included, when he has also faced an injury and is unavailable for KXIP since past few games”. According to fans, the Management and BCCI are putting all their efforts to make KL Rahul the Vice Captain and help him in cementing his place as an opener in the national side.
