Redmi, subsidiary of Xiaomi has launched Redmi 9 in India with tag MoreRAMMoreFun. It comes with 6.53 inches HD+ Dot Drop Display, base RAM variant of 4 GB and base storage variant of 64 GB. It’s design is specially customized for the Indian market. Global and other regional Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C design has vertical dual rear camera layout and triple rear camera with squarish layout respectively. But Indian Redmi 9 comes with the squarish dual rear camera layout.

Redmi 9 Specifications in India

1. Redmi 9 Display

It comes with the 6.53 inches HD+ Dot Drop display with resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels. It has aspect ratio of 20:0, contrast ratio of 1500:1, maximum brightness of 400 nits. It supports Color temperature adjustment, Standard mode, Reading mode, Sunlight Mode. It has also received the low blue light certification.

2. Redmi 9 Camera

It has dual AI rear camera layout, having 13 MP primary lens with f/2.2 aperture, 118° FoV and 2 MP portrait lens with f/2.2 aperture. It has Phase detection auto focus, HDR, AI portrait mode, Face recognition, AI beautify 5.0, AI scene detection, Single tone flash, Kaleidoscope effects for photography modes. For videos, it support 1080P and 720P video recordings to be recorded at 30 fps.

In front, it has 5 MP AI front facing camera on Dot Drop display that gets used for photography, videography as well as Face Unlock for security feature. It supports AI Beautify 5.0, AI portrait mode, HDR, Screen flash, Selfie timer, Face recognition, Portrait selfies, Palm shutter for photography mode.

3. Redmi 9 Processor, Memory, Storage and Battery

It packs the MediaTek Helio G35 processor, having 4 ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and 4 ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. MediaTek Helio G35 has IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

For smooth functioning and storage, it has 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB&128 GB eMMC 5.1 storage variants. Storage can be additionally expanded upto 512 Gb using the dedicated MicroSD card slot.

It gets packed with massive 5000 mAh battery, 10W standard charger. It has Micro-USB port for charging. According to Redmi, it has corrosion proof ports which means ports won’t get rusted if the device comes in contact with moisture.

4. Redmi 9 Connectivity, Navigation, Sensors and Dimensions

It supports dual SIM cards and 1 MicroSD card at a time. It has network types of 4G VoLTE, 4G, 3G, 2G. Redmi has given the support of Dual VoLTE and VoWiFi in it. For wireless connectivity, it has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0.

It comes with GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou for proper navigation. It has Vibration Motor, Distance Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer in sensor department.

It has dimensions of 164.9 mm × 77.07 mm × 9.0 mm it mass of 196 grams. Other than these features, it has 3.5 mm Audio jack, P2i Splash proof coating.

Redmi 9 Price in India

Redmi 9 is available in three colors, Sport Orange, Sky Blue and Carbon Black. On other hand, it has 4 GB+64 GB variant and 4 GB+128 GB variant.

Base variant of Redmi 9 is priced at Rs 8,999 and higher variant 4 GB+128 GB is priced at Rs 9,999 in India. First Sale is on 31st August and it will be available via mi.com, Mi Home, Amazon.in and other offline partners of Xiaomi.
