Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and out RCB into bat first. Half-centuries by Aaron Finch, Devdutt Padikkal, and AB de Villiers helped RCB set the tone before the late strike from Shivam Dube helped RCB put a mammoth 201-3 in 20 overs.
Chasing 202, MI lost Rohit Sharma early to Washington Sundar. Ishan Kishan who was playing this game in place of Saurabh Tiwary was playing the innings of his life. Putting all his heart and soul along with Kieron Pollard at the other end. The duo started smashing every ball from the 16th over to take the game to the super over. Pollard smashed Adam Zampa for 27 runs with 3 sixes in the 17th over. Ishan Kishan was caught on 99 after hitting a six in the previous ball of Isuru Udana. 5 runs were needed off the last ball when Pollard hit a four to tie the match.
Navdeep Saini bowled brilliantly to just gave 7 runs in his over to Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard which “Super V” Virat Kohli and “Mr 360 degree” AB de Villiers chased down.
AB De Villiers won the match of the match award to hand RCB 2 crucial points but a great game was witnessed. This moment only takes the gentleman game very forward.
