Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal banned for 3 years

Pakistani Cricketer Umar Akmal has been banned from all forms of crickets for 3 years. The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) banned Akmal after conducting match fixing inquiry against him.The PCB found junior Akmal guilty for corruption charges. The PCB took their SM to announce the decision.

“Umar Akmal handed three-year ban from all cricket by Chairman of the Disciplinary Panel Mr Justice (retired) Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan,” tweeted the PCB.

Akmal during a live interview had mentioned that, he was offered $200000 in a particular match by fixers. He also mentioned that the fixers approached him during ICC World Cup 2015. However Akmal did not report the following, to ICC corruption unit. Umar Akmal was suspended from PCB, just before the start of PSL and he was not allowed to play for his team Quetta Gladiators.

Umar Akmal is always in the news for his controversies and malpractice, on February he was reprimanded for inappropriate behaviour at fitness test. Umar Akmal had a very bad history with former Pakistan’s Coach Mickey Arthur, Akmal was banned for his inappropriate behaviour and outburst on the coach. The cricketer had a bad fight with the security personnel in Gaddafi stadium.
