Launch event got started at 4 PM BST / 11 AM / 8:30 PM today(14th April, 2020). This series was going to be launched much before but due to CoVID-19, date got postponed again and again. So, they finally came up with the 14th April as the launch date of OnePlus 8 series.

OnePlus launched the 8 Series smartphones with great enthusiasm and powerful features. This smartphone always remains the talk of the crowd and it never loses it’s hype. It has established it’s name in the tongue of tech bloggers, YouTubers and obviously the people who loves to discuss about tech, especially smartphone.

Bullet Wireless Z

OnePlus also unveiled Bluetooth neckband, named Bullets Wireless Z. They haven’t given 3.5 mm Audio jack this time as well and this could be the reason for the launch of new wireless neckband. On 10 minutes charge, it gives a playback for 10 hours whereas on full charge it can work for 20 hours. It comes in 4 colur variants, i.e., Black, Blue, Oat and Mint. Price has been set at $ 49.95.

OnePlus 8 comes with 6.55 inch FHD+ AMOLED display. Company call this phone compact, users have to decide whether it’s really compact or not. It supports maximum brightness of 1100 nits which actually comes with flagship phones. This phone has also a support of HDR 10+ and A+ rating from DisplayMate. It delivers 90 Hz refresh rate panel and has aspect ratio of 20:9.

OnePlus 8 Pro features the highest ever 120 Hz refresh rate panel from their side. It provides QHD+ resolution which is 31668 × 1440 pixels. Screen size is 6.78 inches which is just 0.23 inches larger than the 8’s size. It has a maximum brightness of 1300 nits. It has HDR 10+ support and A+ rating from DisplayMate. It is also capable of displaying 10 bit colours which means 1.07 Billion colours.

OnePlus 8 features triple rear camera with 48 MP as primary lens, having IMX586 Sony sensor. Ultra-Wide Angle lens has 16 MP, having 116 ° Field of View. Lastly, it has 2 MP macro lens at flagship level phone. It has 16 MP punch-hole selfie camera which is really small in size.

OnePlus 8 Pro provides quad rear cameras. Primary lens is of 48 MP, having IMX689 Sony sensor with OIS. Ultra-Wide angle lens is of 48 MP, having IMX586 Sony sensor which has a Field of View of 120°. Telephoto lens supports 3X hybrid zoom with 30X digital zoom on 8 MP lens with OIS. It also has a 5 MP colour filter lens. There is a 16 MP punch-hole selfie camera which has a diameter of 3.8 mm only.

RAM, Storage and Processor of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro

OnePlus 8 comes in two RAM variants and two storage variants. Lower variant is of 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage whereas higher variant has 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. It has LPDDR4X RAM type and UFS 3.0 storage type. On processor, there is nothing new to be told. It was already suggested that it will be coming with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset only which is fabricated on 7 nm.

OnePlus 8 Pro also comes in the same variant, i.e., lower variant with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage and higher variant with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Difference is that, it has a RAM type of LPDDR5 and UFS 3.0 Storage type with Turbo Write. It is also powered by the monster Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.

Battery and Charger of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro

OnePlus 8 features 4300 mAh battery and it will be packed with Warp charge 30T. 30T means it will be giving the output of 30 Watts. It can be charged upto 60% in half an hour. It avails Dual Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound technology which will enhances the listening experience.

Whereas 8 Pro is packed with 4510 mAh battery, largest battery till now from this smartphone brand. It will be coming with Warp Charge 30T and it supports Warp charge 30 Wireless. It also comes with the IP68 rating.

Pricing and Availability of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro

Starting with the colour variants of these devices. OnePlus 8 will be available in three colours : Onyx Black, Glacial Green and Interstellar Glow (will give you the view of all colours in one phone). 8 Pro will also have Glacial Green and Onyx Black colours variants with Ultramarine Blue.

OnePlus 8 base variant, 8 GB + 128 GB is priced at $ 699 whereas the higher variant, 12 GB + 256 GB is priced at $ 799. When $ 699 is converted into Indian Rupees, it values nearly 53,000 and $ 799 values approx. 61,000.

8 Pro base variant, 8 GB + 128 GB is priced at $ 899 and the higher variant, 12 GB + 256 GB is priced at $ 999. In Indian pricing, $ 899 values ₹ 68,000 and $ 999 values nearly ₹ 76,000.

Coming to the availability portion, these devices won’t be available in India currently due to CoVID-19 but will be available tomorrow for USA at 12 PM EDT, i.e., 15th April, 2020. Bullet Wireless Z will be given free for limited time with 8 whereas with 8 Pro, you will’ be getting wireless charger along-with wireless earphone for free but for a limited time.
