But Mumbai Indians star cricketer Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya helped the team to reach a moderate total of 149.
This total seemed very much achievable seeing the strong batting lineup of Chennai Super Kings. But when you have likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga no target is easily chaseable. Krunal Pandya broke the much needed opening partnership between Shane Watson and Faf Du Plesis in the fourth over. After that the batting lineup of CSK completely collapsed. The final blow was when MS Dhoni got run-out. The entire stadium went silent. But when we talk about CSK Vs MI it’s not over without drama. Shane Watson was fighting from one end and that big over from Krunal Pandya completely changed the scenario of the game.
Just when the fans thought Chennai Super Kings caught up Shane Watson gets run out at 80. But the efforts from Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadega helped Chennai to take the game deep, but a lethal delivery from Jasprit Bumrah send back Dwayne Bravo back to the pavilion. Two runs were needed from the last ball. Shardul Thakur on strike and Mumbai Indians most experienced bowler Lasith Malinga was bowling the last over. Malinga had a bad day, but what mattered is the last bowl. And Lasith Malinga hits an in swinging Yorker which hits Thakurs pad, and umpire gives it out. This match was one hell of a roller coaster ride with so many ups and downs.
