The coronavirus lockdown has affected the sporting career of many athletes. Athletes need match fitness and it can only be achieved, while playing on the field. The sporting events have come to a hault and sportsmen are restricted to their house. To fight this situation MS Dhoni and R Ashwin cricket academies have started offering online cricket coaching programs to its cricketers.
In MS Dhoni cricket academy, the former skipper is not directly involved in the process but he keeps an eye on the development and the managerial activity, also have close talks with the coaches. The live coaching classes is being offered on Facebook. While Ashwin academy is offering the coaching in various ways.
The live session of MS Dhoni cricket academy is getting good response from the youth cricket stars. The former first class cricketer and chief coach of Dhoni academy Satrajit Lehiri told TOI, “We are clocking almost 10,000 views across all platforms for every video”.
Talking about mode Satrajit said, “We have an app called Cricketor where we regularly upload demo drills. The trainees also need to upload their videos so that we can keep a tab on their activities. We give feedback accordingly.”
After shifting towards online study classes it’s a great move for the sports academies to start online cricket coaching classes which will help the kid on maintaining their physical activity and also developing certain set of skills rather than just wasting time at home.
Former Tamil Nadu and Chennai Super Kings batsman thinks the youngsters are more keen to gather information. He pointed out by saying, “I have found that students are more aware of what is being said to them online. You can zone in on one aspect of a player’s game, for instance a batsman’s head position, and really work towards correcting that.”
