Mount Sinabung erupted again on Monday for the second time in Indonesia, spewed ash 5 KM into the sky

Mount Sinabung erupted again on Monday for the second time in Indonesia. The volcano spewed a giant ash cloud 5 km into the sky and turned the sky dark.

The first eruption of Mount Sinabung took place on Saturday after one year of inactivity, spew ash 2,000 meters in the sky.

Residents and tourists were advised to stay outside a 3 KM radius from the mountain and to wear masks to minimize the effects of volcanic ash.

No casualties have been yet reported and flights were still operating in the region.

“We need to stay cautious because Mt. Sinabung’s status is still at level III, Siaga [Alert],” Muhammad Nurul Asrori of the Sinabung observation post said to the Jakarta Post.
