Founder of Micromax, Rahul Sharma in a video conferencing with Gaurav Chaudhary aka Technical Guruji has tipped a bit about the use of processors in their INMobiles series. He has confirmed that users can expect more than MediaTek Helio G25 and MediaTek Helio G35. He might have been confused during the conference as Micromax has teased a short clip from their Twitter account, revealing the processor of IN series smartphones. If this clip is to be trusted, Micromax INMobiles is coming with MediaTek Helio G35 and MediaTek Helio G85.
G series of Mediatek is specially manufactured for gaming smartphones and this series has earned a lot of respect in India. MediaTek Helio G35 is a budget segmented 12 nm processor that comes with octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU on highest frequency of 2.3 GHz. It has IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU which runs at up to 680 MHz. It supports dual VoLTE and ViLTE.
MediaTek Helio G85 has ARM Cortex-A75 CPU cores and ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores that runs at 2 GHz and 1.8 GHz respectively. For graphics, it has ARM Mali-G52 MC2 GPU that can run at up to 1 GHz frequency. It allows the smartphone vendors to use LPDDR4x RAM only and not the LPDDR3 RAM.
Micromax INMobiles Expected Price
As of now, India has four smartphones with MediaTek Helio G35 from the major smartphone brands and the cheapest of them starts at Rs 7,499. These smartphones are Redmi 9 (base price Rs 8,999), POCO C3 (base price Rs 7,999), Realme C11 (base price Rs 7,499), Realme C12 (base price Rs 8,999) and Realme C15 (base price Rs 9,499). If these smartphones are considered, we can expect Micromax INMobiles with MediaTek Helio G35 to launch at Rs 7,999.
On other hand, there are two smartphones with MediaTek Helio G85 in Indian market that are models of known smartphone brands, these are Redmi Note 9 and Realme Narzo 20. Redmi Note 9 and Realme Narzo 20’s base variant are priced at Rs 11,499. If Micromax needs to compete with these two smartphones, they will have to launch their Micromax INMobiles G85 smartphone at Rs 11,999 or less.
