Breaking: Nationwide Lockdown to Extend for 2 Weeks, official notification soon

After Video Conference of Prime with Chief Minister’s of state, it is clear that lockdown is going to extend for at least 15 days in India, official notification with extension plan to be released soon in coming days.

Most of the state in video conferencing requested the PM to extend the lockdown for at least 2 weeks. Sources confirming that center will soon release the official notification on extending the lockdown in coming days.

The statement given by CM Arvind Kejriwal gives more legitimacy to this news. Kejriwal said in a twitter, “PM has taken correct decision to extend lockdown. Today, India’s position is better than many developed countries because we started lockdown early. If it is stopped now, all gains would be lost. To consolidate, it is imp to extend it”.

Even Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said “PM told us that we must not compromise on lockdown and we are receiving suggestions for extending it for next 15 days. PM said in next 1-2 days Govt of India will announce guidelines for next 15 days”.

‘Jaan hai to jahan hai’. When I had addressed the nation I had said that to save life of every citizen, lockdown and social distancing are very important. Most of the people understood this and stayed at home: PM Narendra Modi said during video conference with Chief Ministers today.

He further added, ‘Jaan bhi and Jahan bhi’ – a future where people care about both the aspects, follow their duties and abide by the directions of the government – this will be important for India’s prosperous and healthy future.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in PM’s video-conferencing with CMs, recommended to give permission to carry out economic activities within the states and continue the ban on inter-state road, air and rail facilities in view of Coronavirus.

State’s also raised other issues such as fund crunch, CM’s urged PM to provide packages for every state. Issue of migrant labours, poor people losing livelihood; sought steps from Centre to help them.
