Amish Tripathi’s bestseller Legend of Suheldev to be made into a film


Legend of SuheldevLegend Of Suheldev: King Who Saved India is the eighth book by writer & columnist Amish Tripathi. Today morning, Wakaoo Films announced that they will be producing a film based on this novel. Baahubali movie cinematographer Senthil Kumar is going to direct this periodic film.

The novel Suheldev is the first book from The Immortal Writers’ Centre. It is published by Westland Publications and was released on 20 June 2020. It is based on the legendary Indian king Suheldev who defeated the army of Ghazi Saiyyad Salar Masud in the Battle of Bahraich in 1034 CE.

Legend of Suheldev novel was well received by the readers and got praise from most of them. Gautam Chikermane in his review in the Open Magazine said, “(Legend of Suheldev) is gripping from the first chapter and leaves you with a fulfilling climax as well as gasping for more at the last.

The Daily Guardian’s review of the Legend of Suheldev says, ” With Suheldev, Amish is trying to create an ecosystem of writers who can work with him to resuscitate some of the long-forgotten heroes from the pages of Indian history.”


The film will be collectively produced by Wakaoo Films (Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl), Casa Media (Pranav Chaturvedi and Sujay Shankarwar) and Immortal Studios (Amish Tripathi and Aman Gurwada).

The film will be very interesting to watch because of Senthil Kumar. He is one of India’s most awarded Ad Filmmaker and the cinematographer of blockbuster movies like Magadheera, Eega, Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and more. We will next witness his work in the upcoming S. S. Rajamouli directorial RRR.

Amish Tripathi in a recent Instagram post about this announcement said “Jai Maa Bhaarati! He is coming. The tale of India’s greatest heroes is coming to life. Suheldev: The King who saved India soon to be adapted as a major motion picture. How excited are you to witness the legend in reel life?

The novel is one of the bestsellers from Amish and tells the story of an unsung hero of the nation. Adapting it into a movie and presenting the story of the legendary king to a wider audience will give rise to such brilliant writers. Indian Film Industry needs stories like this, so that the upcoming generation will feel proud of their country.
