North Korean leader Kim Jong un has made his first public appearance after 20 days of absence, contradicting rumors about his health, as per state media KCNA reported.
KCNA also released a photo showing a Kim presence in the ceremony. In the photograph Kim sees to cutting a red ribbon with his sister Kim Yo Jong. Though the authenticity of the photo, that on which date the said photo has been taken is still not confirmed.
“Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Cuts Tape For Completion Of Sunchon Phosphatic Fertilizer Factory,” the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
KCNA says there was a “completion ceremony of the factory” on Friday, “the international holiday of the working people of the whole world.”
Rumours and speculation over Kim health rife when he missed the celebration of his Grandfather’s 108th birthday on April 15 which is very unusual.
Earlier Rodong Sinmun, the North”s main newspaper, in a report said, Supreme Leader Kim Jong un has sent his appreciation to the workers who devoted themselves to building the Wonsan-Kalma tourist zone.
US President Donald Trump declined to comment on the May Day appearance report.
“I’d rather not comment on it yet, Kim Jong Un. We’ll have something to say about it at the appropriate time,” he told reporters before departing the White House for Camp David.
Earlier on Sunday, South Korea Officials downplayed the speculation over Kim Jong Un health. They said Kim Jong Un is “alive and well.”
