JK Rowling, the famous author has come up with a surprise for her fans and avid readers during these unprecedented times. JK Rowling revealed she is going to publish her new book, Ickabog in daily installments on her websites, where readers can read for free.
A chapter (2-3) will be published every weekday starting from May 26 till July 10th in her website at 3 PM (BST). The author made it clear that it is no way related to Harry Potter. Ickabog, is a child fairytale fantasy which JK Rowling wrote a decade ago. She has wrote it a decade ago, and had planned to launch the book back then, but after the Potter came out she broke the idea of publishing the book.
Over 10 years ago, I wrote a stand-alone fairy tale called
The Ickabog. You can read more about how, why and
when The Ickabog was written at https://t.co/MgH9NZnSAS

She said, “Anyway, over the last few weeks I’ve done a bit of rewriting
and I’ve decided to publish the Ickabog for free online,
so children on lockdown, or even those back at school during these strange, unsettling times, can read it or have it read to them.”
Not only this the author has also planned an illustration competition. She has asked the children to draw the illustration, the best illustrations will be included in the published book that will be launched in November this year.
The authors also pledged to donate the author royalties from the published books to organisations that are helping the country in fight against coronavirus.
