Jasprit Bumrah smashed his first half-century during the Day 1 of the day-night warm-up game against Australia A at Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.
Bumrah hit 55* runs off 57 balls which included six fours and two sixes. He remained not out on 55 while India’s innings ended on 194.
He was ably supported by Mohammad Siraj who scored 23 runs before being dismissed by Mitchell Swepson. Together he and Bumrah added 71 runs for the 10th wicket.
Bumrah brought up his fifty by hitting a bouncer for six. He was duly recognised by teammates who welcomed him in the dressing room with a guard of honour. Delighted team members were all joy as they were seen smiling and clapping for Bumrah’s heroics.
Well, earlier in the innings India was reduced to 123/9 at one stage and Bumrah came up with his show. This is the maiden fifty for Bumrah. His highest score before this was 16 against Australia A in 2014.
This is the second warm-up game and the first day-night game before India and Australia will take the field on 17th November in Adelaide in the first-ever day-night test match played between these two sides.
