Is This Team India Strong Enough To Conquer T20 World Cup?

Virat Kohli

On Sunday MSK Prasad led selection committee met on Kolkata and announced the squad for 3 T20s and 3 ODIs of India against West Indies. Apparently it has been, assumed that it was the last selection made by MSK Prasad and his team, as the new selection committee is going to be appointed.

There has been a lot of changes in Indias T20 and ODI squad. The T20 is going to start from December 6 in Mumbai followed by on December 8 on Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad on December 11.

The three ODIs will be played in Chennai on December 15, Vishakapatnam on December 18 and in Cuttack on December 22.

India is going with full strength team in both T20s as well as ODIs

The Indian Squad for T20 is:
Virat Kohli(C), Rohit Sharma (VC), Shikhar Dhawan, Kl Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishab Pant, Shivam Dube, Washington Sunder, Ravindra Jadega, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The ODI squad is:
Virat Kohli(C), Rohit Sharma(VC), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishab Pant, Shivam Dube, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadega, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Mohammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The biggest takeaway from the T20 squad is the Kulcha Jodi is back. Many Greats like Sourav Ganguly, Michael Vaughan said that it was silly to drop Kuldeep Yadav. So it is assumed that BCCI president Ganguly has a role in bringing back Kuldeep Yadav.

But if we see the other side of coin you will see it has become a bit unfair for Rahul Chahar. He has been dropped from the team without giving him a proper chance.

Sanju Samson was included in India’s T20 team against Bangladesh but he was not included in playing 11. Now he has been dropped from India’s T20 squad and the sole motive behind this is to show more trust towards Rishab Pant but is it a right move. Sanju Samson domestic performance has been incredible but still he is not getting a proper chance. Seeing Rishab Pant ongoing failure Sanju Samson should have been surely included as a backup opener, if India is aiming for World Cup 2020.

Another question that India needs to answer is are they relying on Washington Sundar for the upcoming World Cup and they surely need to give clarity regarding MS Dhoni.

It’s a good news for Indian fans as Bhuvneshwar Kumar has returned to Indian team after he suffered from a hamstring injury.

After the return of Jaspreet Bumrah it will surely be top notch performing side. But there are few questions which India needs to answer these few questions as soon as possible.
