As expected, what a historic return of Dream 11 IPL 2020. The IPL opening match which took place on 19th September in Abu Dhabi between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings was viewed by 20 Crore people, highest opening viewership ever recorded by any league in the world.

In the tournament opener MS Dhoni’s CSK managed to defeat Rohit Sharma lead Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets. Ambati Rayadu and Faf Du Pleasis innings helped Chennai to seize the win. With this MS Dhoni became the first captain to register 100 win in IPL.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah tweeted, “Opening match of #Dream11IPL sets a new record!

As per BARC, an unprecedented 20crore people tuned in to watch the match. Highest ever opening day viewership for any sporting league in any country- no league has ever opened as big as this. @IPL @SGanguly99 @UShanx @DisneyPlusHS”

Cricket is a religion in India and IPL is a festival. The numbers have proved that how people of India are passionate about this game. When people are restricted to their for more than 4 months, IPL (Indian Premiere League) arrived as a Saviour.

Not only in India, but people from different countries were also waiting to witness some good cricket. Can it be any better than the Most celebrated and decorated cricket tournament in the world ?

By seeing your favourite cricketers walking into the field, gives certainly a different level of satisfaction. After an unending postponement of the tournament, finally IPL took place in UAE and the credit goes to BCCI, IPL Governing Council, Franchises, Players and all those individuals involved with this tournament.

Organising a tournament where players from different country participate is certainly not easy for any organisation, but the stakeholders made it possible and for whom ‘The Fans’.

The opening match marked the return of One of the India’s Greatest Cricketer MS Dhoni. The wicket keeper batsman stepped into the field after 437 days and the world witnessed this moment. IPL opener was a battle of Pride, ‘the most successful team’ were taking on ‘the most loved team’. No matter what the result came, the victory was of the fans and the game of Cricket.
