Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma is impressed with his team and said that they are a quality side who strives to go out and do well. This comes after the MI paltan thrashed Rajasthan Royals in their league encounter at Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
India’s ODI and T20 team’s vice-captain said that they have a bunch of young and talented players who can do the job on any given day.
Showering praise on his team players, Sharma said – “We strive to be out there and play well. We have a lot of quality and it’s about getting the job done. They all have a lot of confidence. They’re all talented and they can take the game away on their day and it’s all falling into place.”
Mumbai posted 193-4 on the back of 78 runs made by Suryakumar Yadav who was very impressive with his shot selection. He also survived a concussion injury off the delivery of Jofra Archer. Hardik Pandey played a cameo of 30 runs in 18 balls.
Rajasthan in reply didn’t have a good start as making his return in the side Yashasvi Jaiswal got out on a duck. Steve Smith also played an unnecessary short to throw his Wicket followed by Sanju Samson.
With no one supporting, Buttler stuck at one hand and played super innings of 70 but that was not enough as MI bundled them out at 132 to register their fourth win of the season to go up at the top of the table
“The conditions are helpful here for the quick bowlers. It was nipping around to start with and it’s good to have bowlers who can exploit the conditions. We also worked a lot on our fielding, because it’s one of the controllables in the game and we made it a point to do that well, ” said Rohit in his post-match interview.
Praising Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit further added – “A good Surya innings was coming, I spoke to him before the game, and his shot selection was perfect today. We wanted him to bat till the end because he can innovate rather well.”
Surya Kumar Yadav was adjudged the man of the match.
