In a recent development in IPL 2020, Corona virus has hit the CSK camp in which 1 Indian bowler and around 10 staff members have tested positive. The CSK players now have to go the fourth Covid test and will be quarantined for one additional week.The tournament is due to start form September 19.
The CSK team arrived on August 21 after attending a week training camp in Chennai from Aug 15-20. The camp was attended by MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Piyush Chawla , Kedar Jadhav and others
“Yes, a right-arm medium fast bowler, who has recently played for India, along with a few staff members have tested positive for Covid-19,” a senior IPL source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
“As far as we know, one of the senior-most officials of the CSK management and his wife, and at least two members of their social media team are also Covid-19 positive.”
As per BCCI’s COVID-19 protocols, all team would have to undergo a test at the Airport upon leading in the UAE followed by 3 tests on day 1,3 & 5 during the mandatory six-day quarantine at the team hotel. Only after all the test results will come negative, the team is allowed to start training.
