They don’t want to lose their creators in their platform so they have added two new methods of Montization. Earlier, Instagram didn’t offer any method of monetization to creators. But creators will be able to add IGTV ads in their videos by next week and it will help them to earn some money.

Methods Introduced by Instagram to Monetize Videos

In Live Videos

Instagram has introduced Badges feature to some creators now. Badges is a kind of subscription which will appear in the live video throughout the stream. Users purchasing Badges will stand out in the comments and get some additional features. You might have seen JOIN button in YouTube, it allows user to help the creator by purchasing their subscription. In similar way, Badges will be helping the Instagram creators. Badges will begin testing next month with a small group of creators and businesses. Over the coming months it will expand across the US, Brazil, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Spain, and Mexico. If you want to stand a chance for early access to badges then please fill out this form.

In Non-Live Videos via IGTV Ads

IGTV was introduced by Facebook-owned Instagram to compete with YouTube. But IGTV was supporting only portrait oriented videos at beginning and later on they started supporting landscape videos. Even though they added the support of landscape video, it was too late because users had already made a perception of portrait videos. And due to this reason, IGTV users didn’t grow fast.

To gain users, Instagram announced the monetization by IGTV Ads in their official blog. IGTV Ads will start appearing in videos by next week. Ad will appear for first time while opening the IGTV video and ad could be as longer as 15 seconds. IGTV Ads is still in the development phase and it will be passing through many tests to enhance the ad experience.
