As Coronavirus is in Second stage in India and many experts believe that in near future Coronavirus may reach at Third Stage in India. In order to control community transmission of Coronavirus in India, Indian Railway decided to cancel it’s all passengers trains till 31st March. Indian Railways serve massive number of 23 Million peoples daily.
It has been seeing that Coronavirus infected passengers travelling through trains which can lead to community transmission of Covid-19. Through tweets and other advertisement railway continuously trying to aware people from not to travel through trains but now Ministry of Railway finally decided to postpone its operations.
Indian Railway Said in their official notification ” In continuation of the measures taken in the wake of COVID-19, it has been decided that all passenger train services on Indian Railway including Premium trains, Mail/Express trains, Passenger trains, Suburban Trains, Kolkata Metro Rail, Konkan Railway etc shall be cancelled till the 2400hrs of 31.03.2020. However, bare minimum level of services of suburban trains and Kolkata Metro Rail shall continue upto 2400hrs of 22.03.2020.”
“Trains which had already commenced their journey, prior to 0400 hrs of 22.03.2020, will run up to their destinations. Adequate arrangements shall be made for the passengers, who have commenced their journey during the travel and at their destinations.”
In order to stop panic among the passengers railway also given clarify over tickets refund.
No passenger needs to go Railway Station in order to cancel their tickets. All tickets will cancel automatically and passenger will get refund by 21 June.
Railway to ensures that adequate arrangements shall be made to facilitate hassle-free refund to passengers affected by train cancellations.
Indian Railways has believe that, these efforts will help to hold Coronavirus spread in India as the upcoming days were so sensitive for India.
This is the first in the history of Railway when entire Indian trains going to cancel for almost a week.
