Indian skipper Virat Kohli became the fastest player in the world to reach 12,000 runs in One day International on Wednesday. He achieved this feat while playing against Australia in the 3rd ODI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.
He took 242 innings to reach 12,000 runs, 58 innings less than the second-best of Sachin Tendulkar who took 300 innings. Overall, Virat is the sixth batsman in ODIs to cross 12,000 runs. The Chase machine has recently crossed 22,000 runs in International cricket. Virat Kohli has 59 fifties and 43 hundred in 252 matches in ODIs. He also has a staggering average of 59.41.
Ricky Ponting is third on the list to fastest 12K runs. He took 314 innings while he is followed by Kumar Sangakkara and Sanath Jayasuriya who took 336 and 379 innings respectively.
