The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has started its admission process for Post Graduation (PG) courses. Interested students can fill the online form 5 August 2020.
Due to logistical situation in Covid, it was decided to bifurcate the selection process (admission test and interview) to four PGD courses (those held in three regional Campuses – Malayalam, Marathi and Odia – and Urdu Journalism Course conducted in New Delhi campus) from the other four courses – English & Hindi journalism Courses, Advertising and Public Relations (Ad. & PR) and Radio and TV (RTV) and hold them separately.
Accordingly, admission notices for the three courses held in the Regional Campuses of Kottayam, Amravati and Dhenkanal (Malayalam, Marathi and Odiya respectively) and of Urdu Journalism Course (conducted in New Delhi campus) were issued on July 3rdJuly.
However, in view of the worsening situation of COVID19 the Institute has decided to go for a marks-based selection process, as a special case, this year. Instead of traditional based entrance process.
More weightage is given to the marks scored by candidates in qualifying examinations, up to Graduation level, including Intermediate and Matriculation examinations, followed by an online interview to be conducted by IIMC.
Students who have appeared or appearing for Final Semester Bachelor’s Degree examination are also eligible to apply. Those who are appearing in the final semester/year examination or appeared but result is awaited should fill the application form with their marks / percentage up to second year/fifth semester of Graduation.
IIMC is Asia’s first institute to have dedicated communion Research department conducting research, analysis and impact assessment study for various Ministries and Government departments.
