Australia Batsman Steve Smith has been involved in new controversy now. This time the former Australian Captain has scuffed Rishabh Pant’s guard marks.
The incident happened during the drinks break on Day 5 of the SCG Test when the stump mic caught Steve Smith coming to Pant’s batting end and Shadow batting left-handed and then scuffing out Pant’s guard.
Rishabh Pant had to take a new guard when he came to bat again. Nick Knight felt that there isn’t any foul play as he was just usually doing his routine shadow but said he would be very disappointed if there is any foul play.
Is this allowed?

“I don’t think there is any foul play. It wasn’t clear as to what his intention was. Batsman seems to practice that and instinctively he may have done that. However, I will be very disappointed if there is any foul play, ” said Nick Knight on Sony Sports India.
