Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy to be screened at Busan International Film Festival

Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Siddhant Chaturvedi will now be screened at Busan International Film Festival. The festival is set to take place in October 2020 in South Korea.

The 2019 release ‘Gully Boy’ was critically acclaimed as well as fared big at box office. Directed by Zoya Akhtar and written by Reema Kagti and Zoya the film earned nearly 238.6 Cr at the global box-office. The movie depicts the life of Indian street rappers from the Dharavi slums and their journey to their ultimate destination.

Ranveer Singh playing the role of Murad Ahmed aka Gully Boy won people’s heart. The actor aced in showing the reflection to all his audience, that there are many Murad residing in their hearts. For his extraordinary performance in the film, Ranveer Singh bagged the Filmfare Best Actor Award. Alia Bhatt’s performance as Safeena Firdausi was also loved by the Audience. The film won 13 Filmfare Awards breaking Black (2006) record, which won 11 awards.

Gully Boy was premiered at Berlin International Film Festival before the release of the film. The movie received an overwhelming response back there. The film was selected as Indian Entry for Best International Feature Film in 92nd Academy Awards but was not nominated.

Now the film will be screened at Busan International Film Festival. In 24th edition of Busan Film Festival, Indian films like Aadhar directed by Suman Ghosh, Bombay Rose directed by Gitanjali Rao, Bitter Chestnut by Gurinder Singh, Children Of The Sun directed by Prasanna Vithanage, Dolly Kitty and those Twinkling Stars by Alankrita Shrivastava Jallikattu, Maadathy: An Unfair Tale, Market, Nirvana Inn, Roam Rome Main, The Wayfarers and many more were screened.
