Government of India blocks PUBG MOBILE with other 117 apps

PUBG Mobile Banned in India

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, under Government of India has blocked 118 mobile apps, including the most popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile, PUBG Mobile Lite. Some of the most popular apps like U-Dictionary, APUS Launcher Pro, APUS Launcher, FaceU, WeChat Reading, Gallery Vault, AppLock, AppLock Lite, MV Master, Parallel Space Lite also appears on the block list of MeITy. Before this, Indian government has banned 59 mobile apps and most of them were Chinese. Ban of 59 mobile apps had appeared at the time of tensed situation between India and China.

From last couple of months Government of India is running a probe against 275 Chinese backed apps including PUBG Mobile. In order to abstain any ban, PUBG has revised their privacy policy and announced that they will now host user data on Indian servers.

118 Banned Mobile Apps :

The ban on 118 Chinese backed apps came after the tensions between India and China, that is on the apex from last couple of days. While it is yet not cleared that whether these banned are, temporary or permanent.

Government also banned several VPNs apps that allowed access to TikTok that was banned earlier.
