On the first day of the first of the 3-test match series against England, Pakistan scored 139-2 at stumps at the Old Trafford, Manchester after bad light stopped the play.
The play was halted due to rain after lunch.
Pakistan were at 121-2 in 41 overs before rain interrupted. The play was resumed at 15.45 (GST) and continued for half an hour before it was stopped this time due to bad light.
Earlier, Pakistan Captain Azhar Ali won the toss and elected to bat first against the 4 pace bowling attack of Anderson, Broad, Archer, and Woakes.

The visitors reached the Lunch break at 53/2, with Shan Masood and Babar Azam at the crease. Azam made a confident start to the second session, as Pakistan crossed the 100-mark within the first hour of the session. When the rain stopped play, Pakistan were 121/2, with Babar Azam having reached his 50 and the pair having added a 78-run stand.
A good day for the visitors then who end the day at 139-2 thanks to a 96-run unbeaten stand between Masood(46*) and Babar(69*). England have struggled after the first session. They will hope to do better on the 2nd day of the test match.
England came into this test match unchanged after beating Windies 2-1 Wisden trophy. While Pakistan came in with 20+ squad.
Earlier, the ICC announced that the front-foot no-ball technology will be used in the three-Test series between England and Pakistan.
