The overcast condition with a bit of drizzle didn’t affect Captain Root’s decision. The English openers are all set for this challenge. However there is a change, Jofra Archer replaces Sam Curran to make into the team.
While team Pakistan is going with the same team. There were talks about if the management will bring in Shadab Khan in place of Fawad Alam, but it seems the 11 years of hard work will not go in vain.

Pakistan Playing XI- Shan Masood, Abid Ali, Azhar Ali(c), Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq, Fawad Alam, Mohammad Rizwan(w), Yasir Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah
After the rainy 2nd test which resulted in Draw in Southampton, England will be eyeing to seize the series, while Pakistan will come all out and try to win this test and draw the series. England are leading the 3 match test series by 1-0.
However there are some concerns in both the side. The English openers now need to deliver. The consistent failure of Roy Burns and D Sibley are raising eyebrows. England’s captain Joe Root form with the bat is also questionable. However England bowlers have been delivering in the crunch moments, but England is lacking a threatening spinner who can run over the Pakistani Batsman.
On the other hand, the likes of Babar Azam, Abid Ali, Azhar Ali needs to score big runs which helps the team. Mohammad Rizwan’s fighting knock of 72 was highly appreciated by the cricketing legends like Wasim Akram and Shane Warne. Pakistan unending middle order problem in red ball cricket is clearly visible since past few series. While Young guns like Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah are giving their all, but still a dream spell needs to be witnessed.
