The much-awaited Dream11 IPL 13 Kicked off in style in the UAE between defending champions Mumbai Indians and last year runner-up Chennai Super Kings.
It was also special for 30-year-old Jamshedpur lad Saurabh Tiwary who was playing an IPL match after the gap of 2 years. He was seen in red hot form as his 42 runs knock help MI post a fighting total of 162. He was selected in the playing 11 ahead of his Jharkhand team-mate Ishan Kishan.
Tiwary was looking in good touch playing at the strike rate of 135.48, he smashed 3 fours and 1 six. The last time the Jharkhand lad played was in 2017 representing Rising Pune Supergiants. He scored 52 runs against RCB.
Tiwary who rose to fame in the 2010 edition of IPL playing for Mumbai Indians. He scored 419 runs in 16 games at an average of 29 to help MI reach their maiden IPL final where they lost to CSK. Thereafter, Tiwary earned his call-up to the National side.
He has managed to score 1276 runs in the 82 matches that he played in IPL at an average of over 28. Tiwary was last seen in Ranji Trophy season 2019-20 where Jharkhand failed to qualify for the knockouts.
