An advanced version of the DRDO developed Pinaka Rockets successfully flight tested today from Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha.
All the flight articles were tracked by range instruments such as telemetry, radar & Electro-Optical Tracking Systems which confirmed the flight performance.

According to a report, a total of 6 rockets were launched in series and all the tests met complete mission objectives.
Enhanced version of the Pinaka rocket would replace the existing Pinaka Mk-I rockets which are currently under production.
The enhanced version will offer 25% more range and 5 years more shelf life than its predecessor Mk-1 Rockets. Once inducted the Rockets will be manufactured by Economic Explosive Ltd.
It has a range of 45 KM and uses Wrap around 6 flat fins stabilizer. It weighs around 280 KG and can carry a warhead of 100 KG.
Defence Research and Development Organisation currently working on a multiple of Variant of Pinaka MK-I is already inducted into the service of Armed Forces.
Guided version will able to destroy enemy at a range of 75 KM with accuracy. Today’s test is one of the part of DRDO series testing since September.
