Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare will be premiering on Netflix on 18th September. Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and produced under the banner of ‘Balaji Telefilms’, the film features Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar in lead.
The film has been screened in various festivals including Busan Film Festival. Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare was highly appreciated for its storyline, showing the aspirations of young rural India.
Alongside Konkona and Bhumi, we will also see Vikrant Massey, Amol Parashar and Karan Kundrra in lead roles. The film deals with the socio-economic struggles of woman in Urban India. Konkona and Bhumi will be seen playing cousins who turn rebellious to make their dreams and aspirations come true.
The journey of the two cousins is a reflection of all the women who have guts to dream and most importantly chase their dream. According to the Director, it’s one of her most boldest film and is sure to break all the stereotypical representation of woman in the industry.
The movie was earlier scheduled to release on May, but the Coronavirus pandemic forced the makers to release the film on OTT platform. However, the OTT release will surely help the film to grab more eyeballs.
During these unprecedented times, people want to devote their time watching good cinema. Therefore it would be interesting to see whether ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ becomes a path breaker and is able to revolutionise Indian Cinema.
