Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma’s Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare which has been premiered on many international film festival is finally heading for an OTT release due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare which has been premiered at 24th Busan International Film Festival under the section of ‘A window on Asian Cineme’ will finally be releasing on an OTT platforms. The movie features Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma as the two cousins with high dreams and aspirations asking for freedom.
The movie also stars Vikrant Massey, Amol Parashar and Karan Kundrra. Produced under the banner of Balaji Telefilms the film was earlier scheduled to release on May, but the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic forced the makers to head for an OTT release. The filming had been completed a year ago, with no sign of hope the producers couldn’t afford to hold the film any longer. According to latest report by PeepingMoon an International Digital Giant has gained the rights of the film.
Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, the movie is Comedy-Satire dealing with the socio struggle of the women. The story revolves around two cousins Dolly and Kitty, who have high believes and expectations from themselves but all the external factors that are holding them back. The movie depicts the journey of the two cousins and how in turn they become rebellious to seize their freedom. The movie will break all the stereotypical presentation of women in the industry.
Alankrita had earlier said that this is her boldest attempt. With the changing times and the growing love for good cineme among audience, the new content are flourishing. However time will prove whether ‘Dolly Kitty Or Woh Chamakte Sitare’ becomes one of the front runners and becomes a film that the Industry and the audience will look upto.
