Born in a Hindu family in Pakistan he went on to represent Pakistan in International Cricket. Danish Kaneria played 61 Tests and took 261 wickets at an average of 34.79.

But later in 2009 he got trapped into Spot Fixing Scandal, Kaneria was given a lifetime ban on England and Whales Cricket Board which prevented him from playing matches under their jurisdiction. He filed an appeal against the ban, but it was rejected in 2013.
In 2018, he admitted his involvement in Match fixing scandal.

Since then Danish Kaneria always makes into the headline. Earlier Pakistan’s fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar revealed discrimination against him based on his religion. He said, “The players wouldn’t have food with Danish Kaneria. The team members even said me to maintain distance with him and not have food along with him. He has been not given a proper credit, which he deserves” and since then a big debate arised in Pakistan as well as India regarding selection policy of Pakistan Cricket.

On Thursday in an Instagram live session with Sports Tak, Danish Kaneria went on to reveal that Afridi conspired, planned and plotted against him. Afridi never wanted Danish into the team. He blamed Shahid Afridi for not giving him proper chances in white ball Cricket.

“Shahid Afridi has always been against me from the beginning. He kept me out of the one-day side,” said Kaneria. He added, “When we used to play together for the same department, he used to keep me on the bench and didn’t let me play the one-day tournament. I only played 16 ODIs in my 10-year career as I used to get only two or three matches every year”.

Danish also spoke about his financial crisis, as he has no more involvement with the Cricket. After Danish was found guilty of fixing he was fired from a news media house, without paying him a single penny, whereas other players who were involved still appear on the news channels. Danish plead to PCB to help him in returning back to the cricket field so that, he can remorse for the mistakes he did and serve the nation again.
