Government of India is taking actions back-to-back against China after the India-China face-off incident. Indian Government doesn’t want the situation to move towards war. But retaliation is the need and wants of Indian citizens. And for that, Indian Government is trying to hit the economical section of China.

According to ET, Government of India is working on a proposal to impose trade restrictions on companies from countries who is illegally occupying Indian land.

Before this, Indian Ministry of Electronics and IT ban 59 mobile apps. MeitY didn’t add the word Chinese in their press release but apps were developed/owned by Chinese companies. TikTok was one of the 59 Mobile apps, banned by Indian Government. China was hit quite hard by the ban as Ambassador of China had to come forward to react on the ban.

ET has gathered that while a final call is yet to be taken, high-level discussions are underway to scrutinise the proposal threadbare, and discuss its implementation and business implications.

If government imposed curbs on those companies than this decision will directly impact Chinese firms operation in India. China illegally occupies the 38,000 sq km of Indian territory in Ladakh.

Pakistan had also occupied Indian territory but the trade between is negligible.

The discussions are being held amid a growing chorus to keep China’s Huawei out of India’s planned 5G trials.

In April 2020, the Government of India already removed FDI coming from neighbouring state through automatic route.
