In Match 14 of Dream11 IPL 2020, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated 3-time Champion Chennai Super Kings by 7 runs. It was not a good scene for CSK fans as MS Dhoni was seen struggling with the bat and also facing difficulty to keep up his fitness with the heat of Dubai.

“I was not able to middle a lot of deliveries. Was trying to hit it too hard. When the wicket is slightly at the slower side, it is better to time it. Looking at outfield it was subconsciously coming to us to hit the ball hard”, said Dhoni.

Chennai Super Kings who were chasing 165 runs, fell short by 7 runs in their 4th match of the season. This was their 3rd consecutive loss in this season. The last time they lost 3 straight games was in 2014.

In a battle of Southern derby, no team wanted to bat second as the team batting second has failed to chase any total that has been played in Dubai. David Warner having won the toss, choosed to bat first. Interestingly, Dhoni was also looking to bat first.

Ambati Rayudu, Dwayne Bravo and Shardul Thakur were included in the playing 11 in place of Murali Vijay, Josh Hazlewood and R.Gaekwad. While SRH didn’t make any changes.

Sunrisers Hyderabad having lost Jonny Bairstow early had a good enough start with Manish Pandey driving the ball very well but they lost quick wickets in after the end of powerplay and were reduced at 70-4.

Then came two youngsters at crease Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma who formed a partnership and brought SRH back in the game. Sharma played a good cameo of 31 runs while Under-19 Captain Garg made a brilliant half century as SRH finished on 164-5 after 20 overs.

Once again CSK didn’t got the start they wanted as Shane Watson  was bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Only 7 runs have been scored from 3 overs and CSK again had a slow start as Dhoni was pointing after the last game.

Rayudu was bowled by a beauty of delivery by Natarajan and Du Plessis was run out that left CSK reeling at 42-4. Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni stitched a partnership but pressure from Rashid Khan meant that they were not scoring well enough.

Dhoni was also seen struggling as he was looking tired after taking doubles. He was seen taking medicine which wasn’t a good visual for any cricket fan on the field.

“Tried to get as much as time as possible. It is quite dry out here. So, the throat gets dry and you start to cough. When you have legal signs, you can take some time off”, said the Captain cool.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was injured when 43 runs were required in 11 balls. Khaleel Ahmed bowled that over which went for 16 runs. Abdul Samad was given the last over where CSK needed to score 28 runs from 6 balls. And the young part-time bowler did bowl smartly to keep CSK away from a win.

“Long time back once we lost three in a row. We need to get a lot of things right. It is the professionalism. We need to take our catches not bowl no-balls. Those are the controllables and may be we are getting too relaxed. We have been a bit too relaxed at times. After the 16th over, we had two good overs but overall we could have been slightly better.

Nobody wants to drop catches but at the same at this level, we need to draw a line and say these catches that need to be taken especially when the team hasn’t been doing that outstandingly well. Catches that these can hamper your knock out stage games. It is very important to be at your best. There are plenty of positives in this game but we will try to come back strong”, said Dhoni in his post-match interview.
