CSK Vs RR

Yet again another disappointing loss for MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. Rajasthan Royals defeated CSK by 7 wickets in today’s match in Abu Dhabi. Fans were hoping to see some MS Dhoni’s magic today as the wicketkeeper batsman was playing his 200th IPL Game, but Jos Buttler came and shattered the dream of all Thala fans.

Jos Buttler proved why T20 is now a  young man’s game not only in terms of fitness but also fearlessness. His knock of 70* runs in 48 balls with a strike rate of 145.83 completely pushed CSK to backfoot and sadly now the chances of Chennai Super Kings qualifying to the playoffs is almost over.

While questions are still being raised on CSK and their performance in this season of IPL. The franchise disappointed it’s fans and will surely be disappointed by themselves. This was a must win game for them, but again CSK failed in every department. After struggling a lot CSK managed to get to 125 runs at a loss of 5 wickets by the end of 20 overs.

Kedar Jadhav’s role in this IPL is being discussed a lot. His contribution on the field is facing a lot of criticism. The batsman’s poor form and his presence on the field is disturbing the fans. While inconsistent performance from other batsman has been a big concern for CSK. The team fails to get a good start in the first 6 overs. Loosing 3-4 early wickets in first 10 overs has always been a concern for CSK.

Out of form MS Dhoni is not seen in best of his touch and is not able to finish the game. MS Dhoni has always been the last hope for CSK fans but seeing him struggle like this is very saddening.

While no words can describe Jos Buttler innings, Jos came at a time where RR were extremely under pressure. Deepak Chahar and Josh Hazlewood picked early breakthroughs and put the opponent on the backfoot. Steve Smith on the other end was looking a bit clumsy. With help of 7 fours and 2 sixes, Jos took off the pressure from Smith and opened the game.

In a dead pitch like this, were spinners were getting the grip and fast bowlers were getting movement, Jos Buttler played an extremely crucial knock and took the team across the finish line. He showed how a T20 game needs to be played. The score board or the wickets didn’t affect his play.

Rajasthan Royals now stand at number 5 position with 8 points while CSK after this game are at the bottom of the table with just 3 wins in 10 matches. However it would be interesting to see whether fans will be able to see a new CSK with fearless attitude in their next game.
