CSK Vs KKR
Chennai Super Kings have finally arrived but a bit late. MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings have defeated Eoin Morgan’s Kolkata Knight Riders by 6 wickets, but the biggest highlight of this match was, CSK’s win helped their arch rival Mumbai Indians to qualify for the playoffs.
Now Mumbai Indians are the first team to qualify for playoffs in IPL 2020. After playing 12 matches and winning 8 those, MI have qualified with 16 points. While the chances of Kolkata Knight Riders to qualify for the playoffs is now minimal. It would be only possible if from here on KXIP, RR, SRH face defeat in all their matches.
What a show from Ravindra Jadega and young Ruturaj Gaikwad. The young lad has proved himself in two consecutive matches. The temperament, the selection of the shots and the spark. While at the end Jadega joined into the party and finished off in style.
The over experimentation in the batting order has led to the downfall of Kolkata Knight Riders. CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. Even after getting a good start Shubhman Gill disappointed his fans by not staying in the middle and converting his runs into big knocks.
However the confusion in the batting order continues for Kolkata Knight Riders. One of the key reasons of KKR’s inconsistent performance is trying to be extra fluid and do something extraordinary. Sending Sunil Narine to increase the run rate before Eoin Morgan was acceptable, but Rinku Singh.
The most experienced and World Cup winning captain is coming at number 5 and getting to play on 12 balls, this is clearly a strategic failure. However Nitish Rana has surely impressed the cricket lovers. His extraordinary knock of 87 runs in just 61 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes helped KKR to get to a respectable total of 172 runs.
However 172 was not enough for MS Chennai Super Kings. After Shane Watson dismissal, young Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ambati Rayudu dominated the play and were hitting boundaries at will. But 2 consecutive dismissals of Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni helped KKR to recover and strengthen their position.
But in the 19th over, Ravindra Jadega showed his class and snatched away the victory from Kolkata boys. Lockie Ferguson went went for 16 runs in the 19th over which really turned around the game. 10 runs was always not enough for young Kamlesh Nagarkoti but he gave his all and at the end had to surrender infront of genius of Ravindra Jadega.
