Canon has launched a new mirrorless camera, EOS R5. It is launched at a price of $3,899 in the US regions whereas it costs Rs 3,39,995 in India. Canon has made a lower variant of R5 available to the users, Canon EOS R6. The R6 has an US pricing of $2,499 and Indian pricing is set at Rs 2,15,995. The cameras are available to preorder in the official website of Canon. EOS R5 will be available from the end of July whereas Canon EOS R6 will be available at the end of August.
SPECIFICATIONS OF CANON EOS R5
Canon EOS R5 has a camera sensor of 45 MP with the ISO ranging from 100 to 51,200. R5 is able to capture uncropped 8K RAW video at 29.97 FPS in 4:2:2 10 bit colour and 4K DCI videos can be captured at 59.94 FPS (~60 FPS). According to Canon, R5 can shoot 8K videos continously for 20 minutes at room temperature.
As for photography, Canon EOS R5 shoots upto 12 FPS with mechanical shutter and 20 FPS with electronic shutter. It has in- body image stabilization that serves upto 8 stops of correction in tandem with OIS lenses.
Canon EOS R5’s autofocus system comes with dual-pixel coverage across almost 100% of Auto Focus area and 1053 zones. It has the capability of eye-tracking for focusing on moving subjects like dogs, cats, birds and humans. There is a 3.2 inches, 2.1 million dot vari-angle touch screen.
For users who can’t afford Canon EOS R5, there is Canon EOS R6. The R6 comes with the similar design but it has a camera sensor of 20.1 MP instead of 45MP. It has the capability of shooting 4K videos at 60 FPS and 1080p videos at 120 FPS. It features 3 inch touch screen with 1.62 million dots.
