In the second episode “One-Legged Skeleton” of Abhay Season 2, during an interrogation scene you can clearly see a photo of Khudiram Bose hanging on the wall board with criminals ‘maybe’. After finding this terrible mistake by the creators of Abhay 2, netizens started tweeting about Boycotting Zee5.
If this is true!! It is extremely shameful. How can a brave young freedom fighter be depicted like this. Appalling isn't it!!
I guess this the new norm in the @BJP4India govt, distorting of history to undermine the contribution of Bengalis in all fields. #KhudiramBose pic.twitter.com/fBU3C79H8u— Citizen Madan Mitra| নাগরিক মদন মিত্র (@madanmitraoff) August 16, 2020
In their defend, the Zee5 support team tweeted this. “The producers, show & the platform, have no intent whatsoever to offend any community or hurt anybody’s sentiments. Keeping in mind the feedback received and with utmost respect to our audience, we have blurred the image (inadvertently) used in one of the scenes of Abhay2“. They also said “We unconditionally apologize for this error“.
Even though, the show Abhay 2 starring Kunal Khemu and Chunky Pandey in lead received well reviews when released. But this incident, which hurts the emotional sentiments of several people might result in the downfall of the show.
